FAQs
If you purchase a backordered item, it will most likely ship within 2 weeks, but check the product description for a clearer time frame. If it is a large order or unique item, it may take longer–and if that’s the case, I will contact you directly with a more specific lead time. If you have a deadline (i.e. birthday, holiday, or some other time-sensitive event), please just send me an email and we can try to make something work!
Yes! If you happen to be in the Joshua Tree area, you are welcome to pick up your order from my studio directly. Please select “Local Pickup” from the shipping options; once I receive your payment, I will contact you with details about picking up your order.
I don’t accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations. But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
Yes! Please see the Shipping Details section for more info.
Nooo! I’m so sorry! If a package arrives damaged, please send a photograph of the item (as it arrived, still in the box, if possible) within 48 hours of receiving the package. I will gladly file a claim with the shipping service, and make you a brand new item, or issue you store credit–whichever you prefer.
I try to use recycled packing supplies as much as possible when shipping items. As we all know, styrofoam packing peanuts are environmentally disastrous–however, they are one of the best things to use to safely and economically package large shipments of fragile items. I collect second-hand packing peanuts from friends, family, and a few businesses and reuse them for my orders. This also goes for bubble wrap and newsprint–so please don’t be alarmed if these packing supplies don’t look brand new in your shipment! I make sure to only use second-hand packing supplies that are in near-perfect condition, so that your order will arrive safe and sound.
If you are a Los Angeles-based business or individual who receives packing peanuts, bubble wrap, or plastic air pockets (the ones that are delivered with nearly every Amazon purchase), I would LOVE to take them off your hands! Just send me a message and I will gladly come pick them up from you.
Yes! Please contact me if you’re interested in selling my wares in your shop and would like to see a line sheet.
No, I do not offer gift wrapping, but if you are buying an object as a gift, please write the recipient’s name in the “Order Notes” box during checkout, and I will personalize their thank you note included in all shipments.
Most items are food-safe and glazed with nontoxic glazes. If an item is not suitable for food due to porosity, non-food-safe glazes or oxides, or for any other reason, I will make clear note of it in the description of the item. All items are dishwasher- and microwave-safe; however, most items I make are not oven-safe, unless explicitly stated in the product description.
Most likely, it will–and that’s what’s so wonderful about handmade goods, especially ceramics. Objects will vary in size (though only very slightly), due to the nature of working on the wheel, and the fact that I am not a robot. Glazing can vary subtly too.
Please click here for a high-res photo of most of the glazes I offer. The photo can be zoomed in on, so you can see the glazes in crisp detail and read up on their unique characteristics.

Shipping Details
US: Customers have the option to choose either USPS Priority or USPS Priority Express shipping. Orders are processed and shipped out 1-3 business days from the receipt of payment. All shipments are insured for full value, and are trackable. If you would like to require a signature upon receipt of your package, please make a note of it in the “Order Notes” box during checkout.
INTERNATIONAL: International customers have the option of USPS Priority Mail International or USPS First Class. Orders are processed 3-7 days from the receipt of payment. Please note that international customers are responsible for all duties and taxes in the destination country.
Large orders: If you are ordering several items, or one particularly large item, I am happy to ship via UPS or FedEx–as they are usually cheaper than USPS for heavier shipments. If you have an account with either carrier, please provide the account number in the “Order Notes” box during checkout. Being able to bill the shipping costs directly to you will assure that you get charged the correct shipping amount immediately, and make the entire shipping process a lot easier! :)
Shipment issues: ZZIEE Ceramics is not liable for lost or stolen packages, and will not be held responsible for additional shipping charges incurred if packages are returned to my studio due to customer absence, errors in shipping addresses, or package refusal. I cannot provide refunds or exchanges for lost, stolen, or refused packages post-delivery.
